Nobody shoots eighty-eight because their ball speed is two miles an hour short. They shoot eighty-eight because the sixty-yard pitch comes up eight yards heavy, the long iron never gets airborne off a tight lie, and one tee shot a round finds water that a straighter club would have cleared. Those are equipment problems dressed up as swing problems, and this bench exists to separate the two.

We Read the Scorecard Before We Read the Monitor
Most fitting appointments open with a launch monitor and a question about what club you want to buy. Ours opens with paper. Four scorecards, or a phone screenshot of your last few rounds, and ten minutes of talking through what actually happened on the holes that went sideways. That conversation tells us more in ten minutes than an hour of range balls does, because the range never produces the shots that cost you money.
Once we know where the strokes went, the measurement work has a target. If your damage is concentrated between forty and eighty yards, we spend the session on sole grind, bounce, and shaft weight in three wedges, and we barely touch the driver. If your damage is two-way misses off the tee, we go the other direction and the wedges wait for another visit. A session with a target beats a session that measures everything and prioritises nothing.
A twenty handicap does not need the club a five handicap needs. Fitting built around tour data keeps handing them one anyway.
That is the whole editorial position of this shop, and it is why the name is what it is. We are not here to shave the last three yards off a good player's gap wedge. We are here for the golfer whose scorecard has four bogeys that were really equipment mismatches, and who would happily trade distance for the chalk mark landing in the middle of the face more often.

The weekend regular
Plays thirty rounds a year, mostly at the same two courses, and has never had a club checked for loft or lie since the day it was bought.

Took eight years off for work or family. The clubs in the garage are fine steel but the shafts are now two flexes too stiff for the swing that came back.
The senior with a slipped number
Same swing, four fewer miles an hour, and a set that was fitted for the speed they had in 2011. Almost always the fastest improvement we can deliver.
None of those three needs a tour van. All three usually leave with two or three specific changes, a written spec sheet, and a realistic sentence about what the change is worth.

Two indoor bays with a doppler unit and a camera looking down the line, plus one reserved slot on the grass tee at the range next door, because a wedge fitting done entirely off a mat is a wedge fitting you should not trust. Turf interaction is the whole point of a sole grind, and mats lie about it.
